Daniela Giulia Pierson

Baroque violinist Daniela Giulia Pierson performs regularly throughout the East Coast in recital and with such groups as Tempesta Di Mare, Concert Royal, Gotham Chamber Opera, New York Collegium, New Trinity Baroque, Montagnura and with members of Belladonna. As a dual citizen of the United States and Italy, Ms. Pierson brings a unique perspective to her music-making: while living in Rome she performed and recorded extensively with La Paranza, the internationally renowned Neapolitan folk music and dance troupe specializing in Commedia dell'Arte. She has also been a member of the critically acclaimed Italian ensemble I Giullari di Piazza, Artist-in-Residence at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine (New York City), touring with them throughout North America. Classically trained on viola, Ms. Pierson attended Mannes College of Music and has studied with Karen Ritscher and Marilyn McDonald and coached extensively with Felix Galimir and Julius Levine. She plays on a Jacob Ford violin made in 1765.
