Joined by acclaimed countertenor Reginald Mobley, Chatham Baroque presents a Lenten program featuring Antonio Vivaldi’s sorrowful and transporting Stabat Mater, as well as Johann Sebastian Bach’s sublime Cantata 54, Widerstehe doch der Sünde, two of the most seminal and profound works in the Baroque canon for alto and string orchestra.  Also included in the program are works by Johann Christoph Bach (Ach, daß is Wassers gnug hätte), and Heinrich Biber’s programmatic Sonata X (The Crucifixion) from his fabled Mystery Sonatas.

In addition to Mr. Mobley, Chatham Baroque also welcomes guest musicians Evan Few, baroque violin; Kristen Linfante and Cynthia Black, baroque viola; and Justin Wallace, harpsichord and chamber organ.
