By Elizabeth Bloom / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Marc Giosi has resigned as the executive director of Chatham Baroque, the organization announced today.

Mr. Giosi, the early music trio’s director since July 2011, will become the director of individual giving for the New World Symphony in Miami. His last day with Chatham Baroque is Aug. 12.

The organization’s board of directors will meet in the coming weeks to discuss future steps, according to a press release.

“It has been an absolute honor to work with this remarkable ensemble for the past five years,” Mr. Giosi said in the release. “The organization has grown tremendously under my tenure, both artistically and financially. This was a difficult decision to make, but I leave Pittsburgh knowing that Chatham Baroque is on solid financial ground to continue to present high-quality performances.”

Chatham Baroque specializes in historically informed performances of 17th- and 18th-century music. It celebrated its 25th anniversary this past season.
