Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber

H.I.F. Biber (1644-1704) was an Austrian violin virtuoso and composer. He’s most well known for his Mystery sonata, which is famous for its innovative use of scordatura. His instrumental, programmatic battalia music will be featured in Chatham Baroque’s From Battles to Ballets program. You can also listen to some of Biber’s music performed by Chatham Baroque here:
