Music and Liturgy
Chatham Baroque is honored to provide music for liturgical church services and special concerts that highlight the performance of sacred music. Over the years Chatham Baroque has had the opportunity to perform sacred music in this context in two of Pittsburgh’s most beautiful churches: Calvary Episcopal Church, where we serve as Ensemble-in-Residence, and Shadyside Presbyterian Church. Our sacred music repertoire ranges from large scale pieces like Bach’s St. John Passion and Handel’s Messiah, to smaller Baroque works for strings, continuo, choir, and solo singers, to instrumental chamber music in the context of church services.
